The goldfinches have taken over the feeder in my backyard lately. I took this picture through the glass in my back door. I liked this shot because of the goldfinch coming in for a landing to the right of the feeder. There is also one sitting on top of the feeder waiting his turn. These goldfinches are displaying their winter plumage. To see more beautiful critters from around the world, please visit

I like a bird on the right -- the bird seems to levitate with folded wings.
Great shot Lois! Love the bird coming in for landing, nice catch! Kathy
I love the goldfinches - I guess that is where ours go for the winter! Really a good catch of the fellow coming in for a landing with his feet extended.

Great shot! I love watching birds... and I am jealous of your warm climate and green plants NOW. In Poland we must wait for spring for some time...
Wow, that's a terrific photo, Lois. Not easy to catch a bird in flight much less one coming in for a landing.
Happy V Day!
I love goldfinches, pretty birds. How lovely to be able to watch them through your door.

Great shot. I love the bird coming in for a landing. MB
You got one in an approach flight, flaps extended, ready for landing!
I fell in love with these guys! Especially the one you caught mid-landing. Wonderful shot!
How cool! Nice that they take turns instead of fighting.
I love the little fellow about to land--hilarious! Gold finches are wonderful little birds. There's a flock of 'em near our home.
The bird on the right looks amazing!
