Donkeys

Posted by Picasa

Sometimes you don't realize what you're missing along the side of the road when you are in a hurry and just not noticing. I drive down this road every day and I happened to look over and see these donkeys just minding their own business and watching the world go by. I stopped to get their picture and the one in front actually posed for me. His buddy stopped pulling bark off of the other side of that tree long enough to look at the camera too. Tomorrow I will show you a few of their friends who were grazing in that field behind them.

Donkeys are quaint animals. A friend of mine rescued one from a shelter. He is quite gorgeous.

I look forward to what the morrow holds.

Who could not love a donkey. I met a couple last week, they were very happy to say hello.

Better looked after than the ones I see in Egypt. such a lovely animal and so much abused by these so called third world countries.

It's amazing we miss. There are such amazing things all around us if we will only slow down and look around.

That is an unusual discovery for sure. Who has donkeys in Tallahassee and how are they allowed? Is it farm land? A Donkey Ranch?

Wild!!

What cute little guys! So gentle looking. So glad you stopped to visit them.

Yes it's amazing what we can miss when we don't look. I once saw an eagle eating a fish on a sand spit in the Columbia River right next to the freeway. I slowed down a little - and nearly got run over by all of the people who were too busy to see the miracle.

What sweet faces they have. Maybe they are waiting to be in the Christmas play.

OK what is tomorrow going to bring? MB

How fun! I love donkeys--and this is a really cool photo! I remember one moonlit night I'd driven a friend of mine to meet her boyfriend.

We were on this deserted gravel road, when suddenly a donkey HeeHawed right into our ears. We must have jumped five feet into the air.

I could just imagine that donkey sneaking up behind us, and then giggling at our reaction. Hahaha...

Love them! Many donkeys in my life, for some reason. In Cyprus, I helped where I could in a donkey shelter, and the donkey is the symbol for Barcelona! Catalans are supposed to be as hardworking as donkeys. In France, to be called a donkey is to be called an idiot. I prefer the spanish version!

Amazing! And I thought all the donkeys in Tallahassee were in the State Legislature!

Maybe these two will run for office next year?

Heh. Heh. You did good, Lois. Very nice shot, with the light on the poser's face.

The donkeys and goats must be very well-behaved if you haven't seen or heard them before this.

How very sweet of them to pose for you!
