Scarecrow

This scarecrow was standing guard over this little garden in Tallahassee. I'm not sure how good he is at scaring anything away, but I think he's kind of cute!

I agree with you Lois!
In Brazil it's not so used ( maybe because I 've never see a crow around there! LOL ) but here I can see many of these scarecrow, and some of them are sooo cute!
I like it!
Cool picture!

Your doorways at FSU are pretty impressive. (I wonder if such massive doors are being built today?) This scarecrow is doing his job if birds just think a human is standing watch...obviously birds think we're pretty strange looking, baggy creatures.

I'm not sure if any scarecrows work. Farmers still use them, though. But I have seen crows sitting on top of the heads of scarecrows...

Have a great week, Lois!

This scarecrow seems like he's enjoying his job. :)

He doesn't look too scary to me, more like he's saying, "Here's my garden, come on in and help yourself!"
Very cute picture.

A very friendly scarecrow! With that smile on his face, I bet the birds will love to linger. Thanks Lois for the visit.

I never had an ounce of luck with a scarecrow and used to make them. I think rattling aluminum pans does just as well until the birds get used to that noise.

Seems like the wrong time of the year for scarecrows but then why not - a nearby village has a scarecrow competition every year and one of them was a snowman.

It's hard to be tough when you have a big ol' smile like that.

I think he's cute too! But I sure hope he can scare away birds and rodents, at least. :)
