October Theme Day: Contrast

This is a picture of the back side of Florida's historic old Capitol in Tallahassee, which has been at this same location since 1845. It was restored to its 1902 appearance and reopened as a museum in 1982.

Towering over the old Capitol and sitting right behind it, is the more modern new Florida Capitol which was completed in 1978 and is 22 stories high.

This is what they look like together.

As you can see, it is quite a contrast of old and new. It's hard to get a good picture of these two buildings from any further away because of all the beautiful trees on the front lawn of the old Capitol, which I personally like much better than the modern one! What do you think?

The Old Capitol is beautifull! It looks very American to me.

I think the old Capitol building looks better. And you did follow the Contrast theme, unlike some people I know..

Hi Lois, great choice. I love old capitol buildings. So the for me the old one.

I prefer the old one, it has more character. We have an old and a new as well, but there's not as much difference as between yours.

I like the Capitol a lot more! The other building just seems out of place.

These buildings surely make a great contrast as we see it the last pic.

Now there is a real contrast. I like the older building better. Modern one is too modern for me. MB

Third one is an especially good contrast Lois. I vote for yours based on those I've seen so far.

I have to admit I like the old one better. I'm glad someone had the foresight to put the newer one beside it, rather than tearing down the old to replace it with the new.
