Tropical Storm Claudette

Hopefully this will mostly just be a rain event, but it sure has ruined the rest of my weekend! Now I have no excuse not to do the laundry, but I sure wish I had mowed the yard yesterday.

Head for your basement! Or don't you have basements like we do in Minnesota?!

That weather was over Coral Gables yesterday. I told my wife that our storm looks like a hurricane in the making. I hope I was wrong.

Not too many basements in Florida houses--the water table is too high! I know only one person who has a basement here in Tallahassee and it's only because the house is built on the side of a hill.

Hopefully it will only be rain, but regardless there will always be laundry to do.

Oh dear. I hope it really is just rain. Take care, Lois. Keep us updated.

Hope all is well and Claudette is just a rainy memory this time tomorrow.

I don't think you will get hit very hard...nor will we. It's not a strong storm but is sure a big one. Could be some rain, though. I should have mowed the grass, too.

Hey, Leif, most of us don't have basements here in Florida!

Claudette, what a pretty name. Here's hoping you don't have to batten down the hatches!

I suppose you could hang your laundry out in the rain to rinse?

Seriously, take care. All that orange, red and purple on the weather map makes me nervous!

I noticed alot of houses along the coast in Florida have carports under the house...perhaps this is why...

I'm hoping this storm doesn't cause too much trouble, as it will make it my way this evening and into tomorrow...

For those who do not think so, Alabama seems to be impacted by tropical storms and hurricanes too...something I might have needed to know before moving here...

I hope it's just rain! Too bad you can't just send it to Texas where they really need it.

Stay inside, stay warm and dry, and most of all get some photos of it. Boy, laundry doesn't sound like much fun. :-(

Oh Lois, I'm free! I can do the lawn mowing for you. :)
