They're back!
The college students are back in town. If the huge increase in traffic didn't clue you in, riding past the sorority houses will. Last week was sorority rush. That is when all the girls interested in pledging a sorority at FSU attend rush parties and try to decide which one they like the best. The sororities also look over the new crop of freshman and decide which ones they like. You really have to want to join a sorority pretty badly to stand out there in 100 degree heat waiting to be let in. This sorority house is located across the street from where I work.

I guess it is back to school everywhere this week and next. Some familiar sights are to be seen.
Yes it is getting busy around town~
"Delta, Delta, Delta can I help ya, help ya, help ya?!"
I guess you can really keep an eye on them, Lois!
In fact it's time to return to school!Busy days my friend!
Thanks so much dear Lois for so beautiful comment and congratulations for your talent daughter!
Have a great week

I hate to think of colleges starting up as it seems to mark the beginning of the end of summer. Where does the time go?
Sunny :)
I remember those days - but not so fondly. I quickly found out Greek life was not really for me.
Where did the summer go????? I am finally gettin with it and it is gone--but I am still here---so that is good.
I don't think I would stand around, heat or no, waiting for someone to like me. MB
Yes, School Daze are here again. Rush, rush, rush.
The pressure to be accepted by one's peers will stand up to much heat and suffering!
Loved your comment about alligators!
Have a great day!
Hahaha, I'm glad those days of wanting to be noticed or to belong are over. It's really nice to be older and wiser :-)
Time sure does fly.
Well, I'm sure all the bars and saloons you showed us a while back will be happy to welcome them with open arms. Not to mention the tattoo places. Gosh, I wish I wish 30 years younger. Sometimes. Then I wake up.
Trying to cross some of our university roads now will become near impossible as we slow and stop to let them cross during classes. FSU girls are the prettiest and smartest around (as my late mom, a Florida State College for Women alumni and KD sorority girl, would confess.)
I love the continuing saga of the Biglows. Such a great family genealogy, Lois. I keep posting stuff 'cause it's such a wonderful part of Tampa's history.
I hope they enjoy learning...
they are our future :)
Have a nice week, Lois
Even though I've been out of school a long time, I find the beginning of a new school year exciting. I wish I was a college freshman again, as long as I didn't have to study for exams again:)
Yea, you can tell that the students are back here in Auburn as well...traffic is back to horrible again, but not as bad as it will be when football season starts again...but the good news about football season, is that it brings more work to the residents...
All I know about sorority houses is from your blog and the film Animal House. My college life did not bear comparison though.
Summer went by so fast! I bet they didn't like standing in that heat.
