Theme Day Shadows
Can you tell from the sundial what time I took this picture? Don't forget to add an hour since we are on daylight savings time. Also that is not another shadow at the bottom of the sundial. It seems to be discolored from age and weather. If you enlarge the picture, you'll see a lovely hourglass with wings and below that it says "I count none but sunny hours". This sundial is located on Landis Green on the Florida State University campus.

I like sundials. This is a nice one.
Hi Lois. Midday, 12 noon, although I was always doubtful about these things. Paul

I've always been fascinated by sundials. I wonder why we don't see more of them in parks and other public places.
This is a brilliant idea for theme day, Lois! Noon?
Great eye, Lois...I can see your smiling and the shadow of your smile!
How about 11:58? (grin) What a lovely sundial. My husband and I went to a garden shop yesterday just to look around. I saw some sundials there--what a wonderful way to tell the time--if only it wouldn't rain. (grin)
That's a great submission for CDP Theme Day. Bright red flowers to boot, too!
That's a neat sundial. Was it accurate?
I think that it say's 11:58? What do they do when it is cloudy?
Hi Lois, thanks for your comment, what a sick deed isn't it. It has been on my mind all day, luckily I had to work. The offender is now dead and one more, so thats 6 innocent people dead. It's so useless.. I am going to the place where it happened. That is not so far away from here. I will lament for a moment and then live goes on.
The sundial is actually reading 11:00 and when I took the picture, I looked at my watch and it was noon. My watch is set to daylight savings time so the answer is yes, the sundial is accurate if you aren't on daylight savings time!
beautiful sun dial. these things are simple and amazing contraptions!
Must have been taken at noon since it reads 11. Great photo for Theme Day.
Hello Dear Lois!
Great shadow shot!
What a perfect choice for theme day, Lois! I like the quote, but I'm not sure I like the winged hourglass — I don't need to be reminded that time flies! ;)
