Railroad Tracks
The railroad tracks at Myers Park Drive near downtown Tallahassee. There was no train coming, but I still was not going to stand on the tracks to take this picture!
Dear Lois! I liked so much this picture! The red light is a fabulous detail and the angle is perfect! Kind Regards Léia
( by the way...the comment that Gracie left yesterday was sooo adorable! We were imagining the scenery with Gracie hiding under the bed, so cute! Thanks!)
I would probably have time to get out of the way, but I always think about that scene in the movie "Fried Green Tomatoes" where the guy got his foot caught in the tracks with a train coming!
Beth--I've never heard of National Train Day! I guess my picture is appropriate for today then. Jacob--the red lights were not on, so it was a reflection. I can't believe there are that many fires. I'm not sure if there are any up here yet, but if we don't get any rain, it's only a matter of time.
Very wise Lois, that said there is a photo I want and the only way is going to be on the line. I saw a steam train today, but was walking down to the platform and just saw it steam past. Paul Leeds Photo Daily
I love shots of railway tracks because I love rail journeys. I always think they are more like dreaming than travelling! Your shot is very evocative. I have a photo of a railline on Vancouver island on my none CDP blog.
Great picture even if you didn't get on the tracks! I think it's kind of strange that so many teens want their senior pictures taken on railroad tracks nowadays.

We still here trains from time to time out where we live. I would not stand on the tracks either!!
The composition is great, Lois! No need to stand on the tracks.
I'm sure that you'd have enough time to get out of the way. A nice picture, Lois.

What a GORGEOUS photo! My husband, the train buff, would adore it, too.
Did you know today is National Train Day??? I've never heard of it before, but apparently that's the holiday which lands on this day. lol
Excellent composition! I like the way the tracks lead one into the distance...were those red lights on or is that a reflection of the sun?
Re: fires - last I heard there were 27 fires burning in Central Florida! We do need rain badly!

Nice shot.
Our son is still here so I have not been able to get around and visit like I had been. He leaves on Sunday.
an excellent perspective!
and of course discretion is the better part of valor!
Atmospheric photo! I guess the train wagons are not in use.
