Hummingbird in my Backyard
I took this picture of a Ruby-throated Hummingbird outside my back door. I had to take the picture through the glass so it's not as clear as I would like.
You must be thrilled to have captured this amazing photo, Lois. I have always wanted to put up a hummingbird feeder and now I'm going shopping! see ya later:)
Yes it's one of my hummingbird feeders. I usually just mix up my own sugar water which is clear, but someone gave me some hummingbird nectar mix (which is colored red) and I was trying to use it up. Hummers don't really need the red color in the water. They like my homemade stuff just as well!
What a stunning photo. Where you going "where is my camera, where is my camera?" I've got a perfect picture here. I love how you managed to get the body perfectly still. We get them around here and I've only managed to take decent photos of the ones sitting on a branch.

A great shot !!
It's a beer in the glass ?
I have spent hours trying to capture a crystal clear shot like you have. And I seldom get one. This is truly a nice shot.
In all the years I have been trying, I have only seen one Hummer in my yard.
YIPPEE! Great photo..
This is wonderful, Lois! How lucky to have these cute little fellows in your yard!

That is absolutely superb, Lois. I know how hard it is to get a decent photo of a hummingbird!
You get my Splendiforous Award for the day!
I've tried for years to get a good picture of a hummingbird ... just a blur is all I get! Great shot! Beautiful bird!
Beautiful!
Wonderful shot Lois!

What a lovely shot! I can hardly catch one of them with my eyes!
Great shot. I think it is pretty clear. I'm thinking like Bergson:) I think it is time for a beer with my lunch.
Oh, wow!
beautiful shot...amazing how fast those wings are going.
The wings are worth it, Lois. Such a lovely capture. Is that a bird-feeder that it is heading for?

Nice catch!! I think hummingbirds are terrible difficult to photograph.
Great Photo, Lois! Wish I could see one of those for myself. They just are not around here, that I know of. They must be awesome to see!
Glass always messes up a photo, but the hummingbird is clear on my screen - those wings flapping a million miles a second were captured perfectly!
Great photo Lois. Nothing as exotic in my backyard here in Yorkshire.
