The Haven of Rest is a rescue mission that provides accommodations for 120 to 130 men every night 365 days a year. It is located near downtown Tallahassee. I took this picture from the top floor of the parking garage across the street. For more information about this place go

these people do a wonderful job of providing shelter!
These places really are a lighthouse in our communities. It seems like every city and town has them, too.
Great post! So nice to know about it!
God bless you

No doubt a number of folks are assisted by the people that run this operation. Looks large, too.
What a relief it must be to these men! To have a bed to sleep on, and a roof over their heads.. Congratulations to the people running this place.
This Haven of Rest wouldn't, by any chance, have any connections with the old Ship-Mate Bob radio show, would it?
I can still hear the wonderful old man's voice. He could express so much emotion--as a child I loved the tenderness and kindness he expressed when he spoke.
I often think, there but for the grace of god....
Nice post.

120 plus men each night: that is a massive amount of homelessness for one city. I often think that these men were once little boys skidding stone down streams ...
The Haven of Rest is the object of my church's donations for the month of April.
Haven of Rest is a perfect name for a place to rest a weary sole. It warms my heart to see caring people taking care of people.
That's a big shelter!
