This pond is located behind the Tallahassee Mall. It has a bat house sitting next to it. You can click on the image to see it better. I also posted a closeup picture of this bat house here. Please visit Watery Wednesday for more beautiful watery pictures!

I love bats! I never really understood why some people hate them. Hope this summer to get to a bat evening where a small group of people can get up close with some expert help.

So this is not a good place to hang around if you are a mosquito I guess! Love all the green.
This is my first time to saw a kind of "bat house"...so interesting!
Great post Lois!
Thanks
Léia
Those bats will eat about all of the mosquitoes that emerge from the pond water, if any. I really like the pond area. It looks like a park setting to me.
Amazing how many of these there are.
Nice looking area to see. Never knew that they have Bat House's. I learn something new everyday! Thanks for sharing.
I've never heard of a bat house but I'd love to see it too...
Smarty pants! I always wondered what that was......
Very peaceful view with a fresh shade of green.
I have never seen or heard of a bat house before. Well, I've been accused of going batty, but that's different, I think.
In Texas, bats would swoop sometimes, but we didn't build houses for them.
Maybe this is for members of the Florida Legislature - the ones with tiny brains.
Seriously, this is a very nice shot, Lois.
It looks so peaceful and beautiful there. If I was a bat, I would live there! Free housing? Lots of free food? Who wouldn't?
This is a good shot Lois. I like the green scene. Good for the eyes..
I love watching bats. I'm sure they are greatly needed around this water.
Such a pretty and peaceful scene.
What a lovely photo, and such a beautiful scene!
I always wanted to know where Batman had his lair....
(grin) Just kidding1
Pretty Lois! We saw bat houses when we were in St. Mary's...I totally forgot till now!
What a lovely watery photo ;--)
Hugs and blessings,
Looks like a wonderful spot...I can't believe it's behind a mall! Is that spanish moss in the trees?
Yes it is Spanish moss! It's hanging in just about every tree in Tallahassee.
A bat house is something you don't see every day. What a nice place to have right by the mall. Nowdays it would be drop the kids off at the mall & go for a walk by the pond.
Lois, thank you so much for sharing your Marineland memories. I do remember when CA one closed down many of the animals were relocated to Florida. I am so glad that it is still open there.
Beautiful green scene.

Its wonderful that they put up a bat house in a public area so you can observe them at dusk ans dawn. Thanks for visiting, Lois
