New update on hummingbird!

My hummingbird is still doing well! He's standing up on his feet now and drinking sugar water from a feeder in his cage. They are also feeding him ground up mealworms. He has some crusting around his eyes, so he is getting some ointment on them and he is still on a heating pad. They said when you talk to him, he flutters his wings. If he continues to do well, he might be coming back to my backyard one day. I hope so! Thanks to St. Francis Wildlife Association for their loving care of this little creature!

What a lucky little guy! Thank goodness for rescue groups like this! From what I've heard, I think the friendly porcupine had a stay with a rescue group, so no wonder he is so tame.

I love hummingbirds as did my Mother. The day she died, the birds all left her garden and came back 3 months later. Everytime I see one, I think of my beloved Mom.

God Bless you for caring for this little guy!

Oh Lois! All the best with this! I once saved a cedar waxwing when it fell from a nest at our family cottage. What a responsibility & a joy, when they survive - something I'll never forget

That is great news, if only we all cared as much for our native wildlife.
