My first Theme Day post is a picture of the stained glass window in the Werkmeister Humanities Reading Room located in Dodd Hall on the campus of Florida State University. The window features images of various buildings on the FSU campus, a fountain, a palm tree and a blossoming dogwood tree limb in the foreground. The window is the work of artists Bob and Jo Ann Bischoff who are both FSU graduates. The stained glass window is 23 feet tall and 10 feet wide. It has 22 panels with 10,000 individual pieces of glass. This spectacular window was unveiled and dedicated on October 31, 1997. There are other stained glass windows in this beautiful room and I will show you pictures of those in future posts.

Lots of stained glass this theme day and you and I both prove that it isn't all in churches and ancient but it is still a modern art form.
This is really a nice stained glass window. I like it. The little church where I was born has one window for the local blacksmith, Tommy Rice, which I always admired too.
Excellent art works here huh. :)
Perfect symmetry! Lovely photo.
So much stained class this round but as Hyde says it's not all churches, which has really pleasantly surprised me.
Gorgeous choice Lois! Happy theme day :)
a very good choice for theme day. I really enjoy stained glass and marvel at the workmanship.
I always like stained glass. I marvel at the workmanship, color, and detail.
Gorgeous stained glass window. Great post!
Hi Lois - great shot. I love stained glass and churches of all sorts. I hope to do a series of the stained glass from French chapels some day.
Best,
Nancy
Perfect picture for today! I just love stained glass. This one is particularly nice.
Nicely composed photo...beautiful stained glass. What a great addition to a reading room...
That is so pretty! Good choice!
That's a fine example of a stained glass window. Very fitting that it was made by two former students.
Fabulous. I love the colours
Goodness, I never bothered finding out how many pieces are used in stained glass windows — it's mind-boggling! A real work of art, and an amazingly modern design. Perfect choice for theme day!
How pretty! I can never resist taking a picture of stained glass.
Wow very hard work involved to create such beautiful stained glass windows
In Florida the sun shines so brightly, I can only imagine the beauty
