The Shelter

I was sitting in traffic on my way to work one morning when I took this picture as the sun was coming up behind The Shelter, a place that serves hot meals and provides a place to sleep for people who are homeless in Tallahassee. Click on the image for a better view. I had to take this picture in a hurry because the traffic started moving, so it's not as clear as I would like it to be.

It warms my heart to see a city that cares for its homeless. I'd love to see more of these around. Better yet, I'd love to see more livelihood centers!

I've had a couple of late nights again and am just catching up on your blog. Congratulations on your award, Lois! I think it's well-deserved — that's why you're one of my favs in CDP! :)

I like the Statue of Liberty with wings on the mural.

I like the Statue of Liberty flying there! I bet this picture makes children more comfortable going in there.

Words of Wisdom! Thanks for reminding us we can't and were never meant to do it alone.

That is a very appropriate message. And I know Tallahassee can get cold as does Ocala, so it is wonderful to know homeless folks have a place to go.
