Lone Tree

This tree seems to be the only one spared when a new shopping center was built on the east side of town. It sits on its own little hill in the middle of a round about in the road leading to the parking area. It reminds me of the Tree of Life at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

It looks a bit peculiar on the mound which looks as if it might collapse were it not surrounded by stones.

There was a unique 'hill' in my hometown (Lancaster OH) that was flattened for a shopping mall. On it was one house and a spring. Now covered in asphalt with a McD sitting where the driveway used to be.

I like the symmetry of this picture! I think it would look really nice in black & white too.

Where was this taken? Obviously Tallahassee, but I was wondering if you could give me a specific location.

This tree is in the parking area in front of the shopping center on Mahan Drive (and Buck Lake Road) that includes Costco and Walmart. I took it right after that shopping center opened back in 2008, so it might look a little different today.
