Fall Color

Tallahassee is located far enough north that we do get some fall color. These trees are next to the pond near the bat house I posted a picture of yesterday.

I am very happy to see the bat house. I wonder and hope it is used by bats. It looks like the ideal location for it. Bats are in decline everywhere and yet they are one of the best animals we have as far as insect predation is concerned. I see them most of the year as they fly into and out of the street light that illuminates the area around the front of our house. It attracts large and small insects like moths and the bats love to catch and eat them.

I hope you are a nature loving person as Nature needs a lot of help these days.

Yes I do love nature. I am especially fond of birds. Your mention of bats flying into and out of the street light reminds me of when I was a kid and we would play outside after dark under a street light. We would always wait to see if we could see any bats and we usually did! Thanks for commenting on my new blog.

Very pretty spot, right by the water.
