Category 4

Posting now while I still have power. I woke up this morning to the news that Hurricane Michael is a now a category 4 and the strongest storm to ever hit our area. I'm in my house and as prepared as I can be. I am 40 miles from the coast and not in a flood zone. Just worried about wind and tornados. Nothing to do now except wait and hope for the best!

My thoughts and prayers are with you today...that Michael slides along his way without causing too much damage. We've also prepared, but probably won't get much besides more rain here. It does make one stop the busy chatter of daily life when making sure we have water, food, supplemental lighting, shelter, and nothing will flood or blow away and hit anything/anyone.

Stay safe. This is going to be a bad one.

I'm appalled that this Donusu spammer lacks the awareness to understand how inappropriate it is to write 'lovely' about a hurricane while leaving the exact same message he's posted on other blogs trying to draw traffic to himself.

I know William. I deleted him. Thanks everyone for your kind comments. So far, so good. The wind and rain are really picking up now.

Thoughts and prayers for your safety and that of those around you. It sounds very frightening.

Here they said lots of rain is expected in your place, too - hope they were wrong.
We just get very short news on Michael as Mallorca, an island where many Germans go for a holiday has had a flood.
It´s ridiculous, you cannot compare the catastrophes but it sems the more far away the less the interest!
Hope you are doing ok, as your property (hubby´s apartment flooded twice, I know the awful smell and hard work).
Best wishes from here!

It looked scary on tv here I watched CNN this morning. Was very special to have contact with you in the heat of the storm yesterday. Hope you will have power again soon and have no damage to the house. All the best and I keep fingers crossed.

Please let us know how it went! I heard that your area was hit by winds and rain but that the most damage was along the coast of the panhandle. I hope everything is A-OK.

I am alright and so is my house. On day 3 with no power, but I am NOT complaining. There are lots of trees and power lines down in my neighborhood and all over the city, but that is nothing compared to areas a little further west of here and down at the coast where people have lost everything. It was very scary and I am thankful my family and I are ok. I only have internet service on my phone right now and that just came back up last night, so no blogging for me for awhile!
