Glass House

I'm still not able to get out and take pictures, so here is a photo I found in my archives from last summer. This one was also not taken in Tallahassee, but in Lake Nona, which is south of Orlando, Florida and near where my daughter lives. The "Glass House" is a beautiful piece of installation art by Tom Fruin, a Brooklyn-based artist. You can read more about this stunning work here.

Update: My fractured leg seems to be healing nicely, but I'm still using a walker and wheelchair to get around since I cannot put any weight on it until my doctor says it is safe to do so. I go back to see him in three weeks, so hopefully I will get more good news then.

I'm linking this post to SkyWatch Friday.

Yes, glass is a medium that gives outstanding results; This is a delightful "house." A fractured leg? What have I missed!! Hope that you are healing well!

keep a zipper bag for the cat to stuff her in when you go out the window... ha ha on people who read this and wonder what the heck?

Thanks, Lois, for sharing this beautiful photo of this gorgeous structure. It's a stained-glass window gone wild. And the shore of a lake would be the perfect place for it. Glad to hear, also, that you are recovering well. I got some good news too this week, so we'll both have something to celebrate over the weekend. Stay safe and I wish you a wonderful holiday!

Wishing you well with your leg, Lois. I have had some experience with broken bones and I feel your pain!
Meanwhile, I have been working my way up the Skywatch list and have glimpsed this photo several times on my way to it. Well worth the wait...it's gorgeous. Is it really glass? These days, one can't help thinking about the possibility of vandals, because there are so many these days.
It's not the world we knew when we were young, but I hope this beautiful installation remains intact.
Take good care of yourself.

Sorry to read about your fracture. I do hope it heals quickly. Glad you've had some help, it is hard to cope with things like that without assistance. Love this stained glass, I'm very fond of it but have never seen it made into such a colourful glasshouse.

Intriguing image. My brightness down to dimmest gives it the look of being photoshopped onto the background but that's my settings and dimness. Hope your leg heals good and sorry to hear you're stuck indoors. best wishes.

This is spectacular, very nice.
I'd find it a real challenge to stay off my feet as long as you must. I hope this three weeks will be the end of it for you.
(P.S. Balboa Park in San Diego is well worth a visit. We didn't even get to the San Diego Zoo or other areas that are well regarded.)

I'm sorry to hear about your leg. Sounds like you're on your way to walking well again. Hurrah for that!

That's a very cool artwork. Makes me want to do something like that.

The colour is the perfect antidote to those everlasting overcast skies in Europe.
At least we don't have snow in Vienna (Northern Germany is expecting inches of snow over night. brrrr)

I hope your leg heels well and you will be able to walk in the sun by May!
Happy Easter!
