Time Capsule

This plaque is located just inside the entrance on one of the brick walkways in Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park. The time capsule underneath was placed here in 1995 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Florida State Parks system and is to be opened on the 100th anniversary in 2035.

Linking to signs, signs.

I loooove the concept of time capsules Lois, things change so much in a decade these days that it will be fascinating for whoever is around to open it up ☺

i wish i knew what is in it because i may not make it to 2035, or will be so old my mind will not know to ask what is in it.

I hope they included some star baseball cards, or something the parks can sell for a profit in '23. haha

We put some CDs/DVDs in our time capsule. But forgot to put a CD/DVD player!

God bless.

Think of the changes that will take place by then!

At least this one's not likely to be forgotten.

A bit of a wait then until it's opened up but exciting to imagine what's inside from the fifties!

Not too many more years

Just so long as its contents were well sealed against the elements.

Wonder what they will find, should be interesting. They ought to have people submit their guess of what's inside. There would be some interesting guesses, you would think. :)

Every now and then someone comes across a time capsule that's been completely forgotten. It's sensible of them to have marked it well so it may be remembered.

Thank you so much for your sweet kind words Lois. The loss is a deeply felt one. I adored her. I love the previous post with the pictures of the big lovely house your great grandpa built, what an amazing place. I would love the hear the stories of your family growing up there! I hope you do a post on that? Also the time capsule is a really neat idea. I wonder what they put in it?

Even if they told you what was to be put in it, most people will have forgotten after 45 years. Surprise!
