Perkins House

Built around 1901, the James T. Perkins House is one of many historic homes near downtown that have been preserved and are now being used as offices. This one is located across the street from the Brokaw-McDougall House which I showed in a post here back in the fall. The Perkins House is currently the home of the offices of the Tallahassee Trust for Historic Preservation.

I love it when cities put historic preservation offices in an actual historic building. That just seems to make so much sense.

It's my kind of house! And so nicely cared for. And such great compositions...again, you do have a photographer's eye. BTW, thanks for the info on your camera. I've got a Canon S95, which is the best point and shoot I've used. I'm selling some p&s cameras on eBay but I won't sell my S95. My large cameras are all Nikons, though.

We see a lot of 're-used' homes near downtown Tampa. Great way to pay for the historic renovation.

Very attractive house. The trees and fence look great surrounding the house.

I can picture myself sitting on the front porch with an ice cold sweet tea. Beautifully preserved!

I worked for a while in an old house like this with a big, wide front porch. None of the offices were typical but the feeling of the old building was very nice. This building looks like it has the perfect tenants.

I've always thought it would be a joy to live in a house like this one.
