New member of the family

Another reason I was so busy this summer is because I have a new family member in my house. My grandson and I brought this beautiful little calico kitten home from the animal shelter a couple of weeks ago and her name is Cecelia. This picture was taken at the shelter when we were getting to know her before we brought her home. She bonded immediately with my grandson. Aren't they adorable together?

Hi Lois! What a beautiful picture of your grandson and Cecelia. :)

The timing is the same for our grandson, but their new kitty, Missy, walked into their lives via their patio about ten days ago. A raccoon was on their patio when a 4-6 month old stray kitten chased it away. What bravery! Our son and grandson have adopted Missy after checking to see if anyone was missing her in the area. It is not unusual for people to "dump" unwanted kittens and puppies in our son's neighborhood. Fortunately, Missy was adopted into the family instead of becoming dinner for a larger animal.

In our neighborhood, the feral cats have disappeared since the coyotes have arrived following the deer into our area.

What a kind thing to do, and with your Grandson too, a good lesson for the younger generation, and you must be so proud of him, he looks a smart young man.
Take care, and have a good week, Gordon.
PS, I bet you wouldn't catch Trump doing anything like that.

Handsome boy and the kind of kitten to melt anyone's heart. I hope you will make sure it is an indoor cat and not permit it to decimate local bird populations.
