Neighborhood bunny

I have been seeing several white bunnies hanging around in my neighborhood for the last three or four months. Sometimes there will be two together and I have even seen three together at one time. Most of the time I just see one and it is usually in the morning or late afternoon. I think they used to be pets and either escaped or were just turned loose. I wish these pictures were clearer, but I had to use my phone to take them when I saw this particular bunny fairly close to the side of the road.

What a cute bunny. It's sad if people just release them in to the wild which basically is the city. They should bring them to the shelter if there is one around.

They don't look like wild bunnies, I think you are right they must be released into the wild. It happens here too.

A White Rabbit!
If it goes down a hole, don't follow or you could get stuck in Wonderland!
Have a great week-end!

Very cute. I imagine the climate there is mild enough for domestics to manage. They'd have problems here, while the wild rabbits are better suited for it.

Hello, the white bunnies are so cute. I have only seen pet white bunnies not wild bunnies. They be ok surviving in the wild. Thank you so much for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday! Wishing you a happy weekend!

Ahh--first white squirrels and now white rabbits--is someone "bleaching" out your critters over there????
The rabbit seems happy enough and looks healthy--so they must be doing ok--
thanks for the cute photos-
enjoy the moments, di

I think you're right about them being someone's pets....we've got cotton tail bunnies around the house but I don't think you'd find these white guys out in the "wild." :))

I am thinking the same as you...either escapees or turned loose. One time something opened our cage, when the girls were young. We felt like it had been dog rattled it till it opened, but never did know for sure. A week or two later, a neighbor came down and said, 'hey, there's a rabbit down there under the car and it doesn't act very wild...didn't you have some?' So Roger went down and called 'Bailey, girl, is that you?' and here she came...it was her.

I guess she knew his voice...the girls would get her out in the yard, and let her be loose, and if something scared her, she ran to them...they would be sitting in the grass. She would jump in one of their laps and hide her head against their arm.

Amazing to see a white rabbit in the wild, but as you say they were someone's pets once. Hope they do well....they certainly have no camouflage to protect them!

Isn't he sweet! I expected to see the usual brown rabbits I see around our Florida home . ... I'd guess this must be an escaped pet. Hope he will be OK. It's a hard life out there for a bunny.
