Barber Shop Building

I'm not sure if this is one barber shop or two shops that are operating side by side, but I liked the looks of this old building. I saw it while driving through the small town of Chattahoochee, which is located about 45 miles west of Tallahassee. The town is mostly known as the home of the Florida State Hospital, which was established in 1876. I'll show some pictures of the hospital campus and provide some history about it in the next couple of days.

Linking to signs, signs.

The building has a Southern charm to it. It sure looks like two shops, there must be a lot of hair to cut in the area. Tom The Backroads Traveller

An old-fashioned building, I also like the neat brickwork.

A simple brick building with some colourful doors.

Competing barber shops? That much business in a small town? That would be amazing.

I like that brick building. It seems perfect for a barber shop.

I'm guessing it's one shop because the door on the right looks more decorative than functional. I don't think I've been to that town...sounds like another road trip is in order!

It does appear to be two, but perhaps it's just two entrances?

Yes, I like the brickwork, too!!! Old buildings just seem to have more character than the ones today!! Hope your week is going well, Lois!! Enjoy!!

Hmmm. I'm thinking it might be two shops too.

I'm more inclined to think it's one, but that'll be a big barbershop!

If I didn't know any better, I'd say I was in the West! Love it!

I love the brick building. So small town America!

Interesting. I guess they each have their own clientele - one looks more 'old school' than the other.

Pretty classic spot for a barber shop!

It looks like barbershops used to look when I was a kid...well, like a well- established part of the community. I can imagine men enjoying their time there catching up on news ....as well as the reason they came.

It looks like two, side by side.
