Monday Mural

I have seen pictures on other blogs of this being done on electrical boxes in other cities, so I was really excited to find one here in Tallahassee. I also like the way the sun is shining on all that Spanish moss hanging from the branches on the trees in the background, which I didn't notice when I was taking the picture. It's hard to find a tree around here that doesn't have a least a little bit of moss! Linking to Monday Mural.

A mural always makes these boxes look nicer.

Complements the color in the masks very well.

It is always nicer to brighten up such a piece of grey.

I forgot to thank you for your answer on my question. You are a family of clever brains :).

That's a mural that tries to mask the ugliness of the electrical box! :)

But a great idea and well done. Spanish moss is ubiquitous! I think it hurts the trees but a tree surgeon I talked to said it does not. So what does he know?

Your wonderful comments were a delight, Lois. Thank you very much!

The art is so much prettier than graffiti that is in so many other public spaces.

I love seeing these boxes painted too but, I don't think I've seen any around here. I did see a great one in California last month when I flew to San Jose for the day.

Oh, yes! a mural is definitely a huge improvement for those "boxes"! Great shot for the day, Lois, I do love the trees and moss!! Hope you have a lovely new week!!

It's a creative way to soften the look of those boxes. This one is quite dynamic!

I'm glad to see these utility boxes brightly painted. This is also done here in San Diego. It makes the boxes more eye appealing and provides work for local artists.

Much better than ours: we got only ugly tags until now...

That's a very clever idea to turn a potential eyesore into a piece of art!

Do you think the idea will spread around town? Makes for a festive corner. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.

It makes you wonder why these things haven't always been painted up so nicely! Good one, Lois.

Yes, painted utility boxes are exceptions to my usual dislike of so-called street art. There are some in Hartford.
