Not shy at all.

Here are two more shots from my visit to Orlando over the holidays. I took these pictures right after I took the one I posted yesterday. I don't think I have ever been able to get this close to a Great Egret or a White Ibis before. They don't seem to mind the tourists at Walt Disney World one bit, especially when food gets dropped on the ground. Even though these birds don't seem as wild as they should, I'm going to link this post to Wild Bird Wednesday.

Herons are usually seen by the water but I'm not surprised to see them encroaching on civilisation

Yes some birds are so domesticated and used to get fed. Nice pictures.

This egret must be on the Disney payroll. :-)

That's amazing. Great Egrets usually take off anytime you get within a mile of them. I guess this one figured out there was good food and he/she wasn't going to get hurt!

Thanks so much for all of your comments! Wow. It's nice to have you back again!

It surprises me how some birds really are quite tame if they don't feel threatened.

Wow, that does seem a bit unusual for these birds to be that close to people.

That would be interesting to have such birds show up at your feeder. Cute shots, I like being able to compare the size of the egret and ibis.
