Photos from Florida's Capital City (and occasionally a few from other interesting places I have been fortunate enough to visit in my travels!)
I've heard of these maps.
My two German great-grandfathers and one of my French great-grandfathers died in WWI. My other French great-grandfather was wounded in WWI.My French grandfather and my German were POWs in WWII. I am the product of European and more specifically franco-german peace...
What was the Bluejackets Book? Code of conduct?
Somewhere in a box I have yet to open, it a group of artifacts from my grandfather. One I know I have is a ration book with ration stamps inside.
He managed to keep them very well!
Wonderful treasures these are indeed! Thanks for sharing, Lois!!
How nice to keep those reminders. Lets say a prayer for all Veterans. MB
How lucky you are to have these, Lois.
Yes, you should be proud! This is wonderful. My uncle also served in WW II and I've always been proud of him.
Very lucky of you to have these. I've seen similar items today in our war museum.
I wonder if the next generation will value these family mementos as we do.
How neat to have these pieces of history!
Keep them safe Lois, treasures you have there to pass on to your children.
God bless him for his sacrifices! We appreciate the WWII vets so much...all our vets of course, but those guys are special.
What neat mementors of your dads time in the service. Great V-Day post.
