Photos from Florida's Capital City (and occasionally a few from other interesting places I have been fortunate enough to visit in my travels!)
You catched him very well against the blue sky.
Oh, you were quick on the trigger on this one...super shot. I don't think I've ever got a decent photo of a hawk. It certainly is a wild bird!
great view point for him!
I never tire of hawks. We have many varieties up here and I'm always so happy to see them.
Hawks seem to have adapted well to civilization! Very nice photo.
Nice find!! Boom, Bobbi and Gary.
Not sure I have ever seen a real hawk in the last twenty years!
OH wow! I'm never fast enough to get the hawk shots. :)
Nicely captured here Lois, looks like he's on the lookout for his next meal :)
He's found a good look out point.
Terrific capture of a beautiful bird, Lois!! I love it! He does indeed seem to be looking for his next meal and ready to grab it!!
Nice shot. I like pics of Hawks. MB
You composed this shot so well, Lois.
Great catch, Lois !
I'm like VP. We don't get to see many anymore even in the countryside. All the more pleasure to see one here!
This one's quite distinctive up there. Nicely captured!
As the king of the city.
I am surprised that VP and Ciel say that hawks are uncommon over there. I see them all the time in southwest Florida. Are they common in Tallahassee?
Always sad their habitats are slowly being encroached upon but always a wonderful encounter to find one. :)Nice catch!
He is wonderful and it's a great position there to see everything around. Great shot, well done!I'd like to thank you for your words in my blog and also in our facebook page. I'm not blogging so much because I'm studying again. :)HugsLeia
he is happy to be on your photo
Great photo. I love birds of prey. They are so elegant.
I wonder what the hawk was waiting for. Something tasty must have been close by.
They are very common in Tallahassee Jack. I see them in my yard all the time. I can always tell when one is around because all the squirrels and smaller birds disappear.
I'm always on the lookout for hawks, but rarely see one.
Always a good day when you see a bird of prey!Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
