Donations Accepted

Lately I've noticed quite a few of these purple donation bins around town. It looks like a worthy cause to me and you can visit their website here.

We need a program like this in our area. But sadly, it is a very small community.

I don't think I've seen the Big Brother, etc. one in Ocala. But we do have a lot of generic ones - Donation - Clothing. I'm a big suspicious. Anybody can put one of those up.

Big Brothers/Big Sisters does good work. Hope they are getting what they need from these boxes!

PS: The rude commenter on my blog has done this before. If I delete his comments or say anything, he just comes back and is worse. I just ignore them now. :(

We have a few of these around down here too which reminds me, I have a box of things I could donate. I need to get those into my car.

We have those here as well, for various causes. I'm a bit wary, unless I know the cause in question.

We have them too and I've often given clothes that are still in good shape.

I've never seen the big brother/sister ones but there are a lot of them around here that aren't really for a charity!

In Poland some time ago appeared this type containers. They look completely different, but I think the idea is the same.

I think that not everyone is enthusiastic about the idea.
Some companies collect clothes in this way, and then selects the better. At the end of these clothes and shoes to get used clothing stores (in Poland such shops are called "second hand")

Big Brothers and Big Sisters is a good organization, but I think they might be poaching on the used clothing collection done by other charities.
