Spidey

My oldest grandson named this guy "Spidey" after he built his web just on the other side of my sliding glass door. We got to watch him for about a week before a bad storm came up and he got blown away by the wind. Here he is having a little snack. Visit Camera Critters if you would like to see more fascinating critters from around the world.

Well that's a big hairy spider! Hopefully he found a new place to set up shop.

That is a big one! We don't see them this big here.

Tell your grandson that Spidey is actually Ms. Spidey and she's an orb weaver. (The males are teeny tiny.)

Thanks! I kind of suspected that Spidey was a "she" but I wasn't sure.

Very nice clear shot! Haven't seen many of these spiders of late. Maybe the winds have blown them all away. You must be a woman unafraid of itsy bitsy spiders, right?

That lady spider lasted longer at your house than she would have mine Lois :)

Glad you left it alone to live its life. Nice shot.

Thank you. Love love, Andrew. Bye.

Yikes! I totally understand The Cycle of Life but being consumed by a huge, hairy spider is a sad way to go. Great photo!

HUGE! I am impressed that Mr. Downtown would know that this is a female. I don't think any of my friends would know the difference . . .
