I took this picture of Lake Michigan while I was standing behind the Adler Planetarium in Chicago. It was a very cold and windy day and looked like we were about to get some snow. You can see a ship on the lake in the distance. To see more wonderful watery pictures, be sure to visit Watery Wednesday.

That is a big lake, almost a sea. I visited this one too in spring and it was very cold there with very strong winds blowing.
That is a very freezing pic. So very Chicago. Not that I would know anything about that.
it's amazing how huge that lake is isn't it? i was shocked when i saw it in person!
Those look like snow clouds. Very cold scene. Nice!
A lonely beacon stands watch on the shore. Nice shot, Lois.
Are you as cold as I am? brrr!
Warm hugs,
Pam :)
Lake Michigan is beautiful, but scary! I lived in Chicago and the surrounding area for a total of about 10 years. I remember how hot it got in the summer and how bitter cold (and windy) it got in the winter. You've caught the threat of cool turning cold in this photo very well!
It looks just as you described it. :-)
