This beautiful little pond is located in the backyard of my cousin. She and her husband (and many more of my relatives) live near the tiny town of Pinetta, which is about 60 miles east of Tallahassee. That is a big piece of driftwood there in the foreground and yes, alligators have been known to frequent their pond. To see more lovely watery pictures, don't miss Watery Wednesday.

Must be scary to find an alligator in your pond. We only see fishes and waterbirds.
The pond looks so serene WITHOUT the gators!
Definitely a Floridian scene. Looks nice and peaceful.
Its nice to look at, but I sure would be scared of the gators. Pretty shot.
They live in such a beautiful place, this pond is adorable!

This is really pretty, in an understated way. Nice shot, Lois.
Such a GREEN, lush, watery photo! A lovely backyard water element to see every day!
I've never even heard of Pinetta!
What a beautiful backyard! Would love to see what kind of critters visit their pond.
This is really nice, other than the gators of course.
That sure looks like a green pond with a bird house which should house marlins or swallows to eat the mosquitoes. I like the piece of wood sculpture.
Such a relaxing view!
My watery post, please come and see.
Find some shade, iced tea and a good book... fast!
this is someone's backyard. very nice.
Was your cousin every SURPRISED by alligators in the pond, or did she have plenty of advance warning?
FEEL THE WATERS’ HEALING
If you’re stressed and weary
Try a thing or two:
Go down to the river,
Take a friend with you;
Take your shoes and socks off,
Plunge in twenty toes—
Feel the waters’ healing
As the river flows!

The grass looks so perfect I thought perhaps this was a portion of a golf course.
I enjoyed browsing your photos of Tallahassee and closely area. I went to FSU and lived the area but haven't returned much.
I'm sure I'd be scared out of my whits if I saw an alligator in this beautiful serene scene! So lovely :D
Their most recent gator was a baby, but he's not there anymore. They check for alligators by shining a light out there at night. You can always tell if there is one out there, because the light will reflect in their eyes. Their grandkids swim in this pond, so they check it frequently!
This must be the place of the "driftwood cousin." Right? Looks lush and green and hot. 95 again here today! Ugh!
What a beautiful place!
What a beautiful place to live. And you have a fantastic shot!
