College graduates and their families wait in line to take pictures in front of the Westcott Building fountain at the main gate of the Florida State University campus this past weekend. It is a huge tradition to have your picture taken here in your cap and gown and it brings back wonderful memories for me of my own graduation and that of both of my grown children. Look closely and you will see a girl posing in front of the fountain in her cap and gown.

That must be a great day for everyone involved. We don't have those costumes here, I saw it from my hotelroom in London last year, uposite the university.
Nice that everyone waits, so that it's not a chaotic photo opp with oodles of people standing around the fountain.
Exciting times lie ahead!
Very exciting!
That's is wonderful...a truly significant tradition. I can imagine how this would fill your heart with good memories!
What a great tradition! Nice capture of it, too.
It was probably my proudest day when my daughter graduated. Such a lovely day for all these people, enjoying the sunshine and sense of occasion.
It looks like a great place for a picture. I like the poster from the Alumni Association to get them to sign up as an alum as soon as they have their diploma in hand. I think every school does that.
Waiting in line to take a picture... Done this a few times.
Yes... amazing!
Beautiful surroundings and exiting future for the students....
Is an exciting day for all, I think.
Beautiful documentation, Lois.
Thanks, Lois! You must be a very smart person to agree with me! :-) Seriously, it's nice to know there are others of us out there ...
Hope you have a great week!
Very exciting, a beautiful image and when I enlarged the photo I saw the young lady posing at the fountain. What a happy day.
What a beautiful fountain, and a great tradition. Studying on the line it seems like more than a few have sore feet.
Graduating from university is no small feat and both the building and the fountain are lovely and distinctive – I would have patiently lined up too. Congratulations and good luck to all the new graduates!
Thank you for the welcome back, Lois. Hope you're fine. :)
I am impressed that they are patiently waiting in line. This must be THE place for graduation pix. My daughter went to the same college my wife and I did, and I got a bit misty taking her graduation photos at places that were meaningful to me.
Graduation day! The culmination of 4 years of hard work and a few parties I'm sure!
What a beautiful day to make special memories, just like the ones that you have. Neat!
Love tradition like this! The graduates must have been very happy to graduate :D
