One of the more lavish fraternity houses at Florida State University.

You showed discretion to take this photo on a sunny afternoon rather than a Saturday night. How do I know it was the afternoon and not the morning? All the beer bottles in the front yard have been picked up.

At least this one didn't have all the sadness the other one had.

I actually took this picture last Sunday afternoon and I didn't realize it at the time, but just around the corner at another fraternity house there was an accidental shooting at a party the night before where a 20 year old coed was killed. I later heard about it on the news. It is such a tragedy that this happened and that particular fraternity has been suspended. Guns are prohibited in these houses and anywhere on campus.

I heard about that accidental shooting -- quite tragic. This is a nice fraternity house from the outside. Gotta wonder how it looks inside with so many young men living there.

I wonder what kind of iniciation this fraternity has? :-)

Ps: The accidental shooting is so sad...makes me wonder why someone would need a gun in college?

The trees and their shadows add so much to the photo.

Beautiful building! Dave's com made me laugh but when I read the following comments I told myself the place was not as quiet as it looked. Happy Year 2011!

They must have a lot of alumni support. I didn't read about the other fatality. Having guns on campus is crazy.

I was never in a fraternity partly because I couldn't afford it and partly because I wasn't interested...

I guess I dislike them because the seem to undemocratic and elitist. They also tend to encourage over-the-top behavior.

But, look at this mansion! It is a beautiful building for sure!

Have a great weekend!
