Happy 4th of July!

Today is Independence Day in the United States. I hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July! This picture was taken outside of Memorial Hall at Stone Mountain near Atlanta, Georgia, where my grandson and I spent our summer vacation this past week. Memorial Hall faces Stone Mountain and if you enlarge the picture, you can see a reflection of a little part of the mountain in the windows. I will be showing some more pictures from our trip this coming week.

I hope you and your grandson had a memorable vacation, and I look forward to seeing more of stone Mountain. I was there once, briefly, a long time ago. When I was in high school (more than 40 years ago) we passed through on our way to Florida for vacation.

I've always liked those old-timey banners. They're so American.

I walked past a 4th July celebration here in my local park. They seemed to be very much enjoying themselves.
