My son took me out to lunch for Mother's Day and this is where we went. The food at the Genghis Grill is delicious. According to their website, the food is prepared using an interactive style of exhibition cooking modeled after 12th century Mongol warriors who, according to legend, heated their food by holding their shields over open fires. I'm glad they didn't make us do that, but it was a lot fun. I also got a nice shot of the reflection of their sign out front. I've never been to a Mongolian resto. It sounds like a fun experience. Kudos to your son for picking the perfect place for Mother's Day!
We have a restuarant in Williamsburg with the same set up. The food is delicious. We didn't know about the shield history and much prefer the grill.
Darryl and Ruth : )
cool reflection
it looks like a fun place to go
So nice of your son & what a neat reflection too!
Do they let you choose your ingredients and sauce? That's what our Mongolian grills are like in Manila. Though thankfully, they do the cooking too.
Hello from Toronto! Sneaking in some computer time while hubby dear's getting dressed. ;)
Mongolian food! This is something I'll have to try!
Cool photos! That does look like a fun place.
They just opened one here, and we really enjoy it. That dragon salt is addicting :) Nice reflection shot and what a fun place for your son to take you. Kathy
Gah- where IS this place?
This does look good! You've made ol' «Louis» hungry!
Ok, it is decided, we'll finally try it. Hope it is as much fun!
What a perfectly unique reflection! I LOVE it! That is one cool shot!
Great shot of the reflection ... very colorful and tasty too! I like the photo of the people too. I just hope that the restaurant is friendly - unlike their namesake :)
I had no idea shields were used for cooking! Looks like a great place to dine :D
Oooooh, you just had to go and put up a yummy post just when I'm getting ready for dinner ... Arrrrgh! What a fun looking place, Lois! Love how you tied the reflection in here!!!
Yes Hilda, you do get to choose your ingredients and sauce and spices too, so you can make it spicy or not, whatever you choose. Glad you made it to Toronto and I hope you are having fun!
Mary--this place is on the Parkway where the old Bennigan's used to be.
Love the name of the restaurant.
That is a very cool reflection...now I'm hungry!

Interesting concept. I guess the more unique a place is these days, the better. We have two "old" Bennigans sitting empty, although one is supposed to be opening under another name. But...there's a sign out front asking for a financial partner, so that's not too happy!
