Photos from Florida's Capital City (and occasionally a few from other interesting places I have been fortunate enough to visit in my travels!)
wow this Building is massive, great contrast white and perfect blue!Have a nice Friday dear Lois, hugsLéia
nice sky, capitol looks tall.
If you look very closely, you can see Charlie Crist Waving from one of the windows.
Yes and since I am the mother of a teacher, I was quite pleasantly surprised and pleased at Charlie Crist's veto yesterday!
The stark contrast between massive white and massive blue, touched by wisps of clouds ... well, it's absolutely beautiful.
A wonderful blue sky! Hope it lasts through the weekend.
Tallahassee has beautiful buildings. Beautiful sky shot, Lois.Yea for Governor Crist's veto!
Nice blue sky - and the angle is reminiscent of the "Tenin Technique".
I have to confess that I think that the sky in your photo is more attractive than the building. I think that capitol buildings should make more of an architectural statement than a tall box office building that looks like it could house an insurance company. Where is the dome? The Arizona State Capitol is a charming building with a low, copper dome, but decades later they put a nine-story building that looks like a concrete bunker on steroids right behind the dome, dwarfing it.
Dave--this is the newer more modern Florida Capitol building which sits right behind the older historic Capitol building which does in fact have a beautiful dome! I have posted pictures of it before, but I think the most recent post was for the October 2009 City Daily Photo Theme Day (contrasts) here: http://tallydailyphoto.blogspot.com/2009/10/october-theme-day-contrast.html
Terrific shot, Lois! Beautiful building and gorgeous blue skies! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!Sylvia
A beautiful view of the place where so much chicanery goes on. But at least Crist did the right thing yesterday! My daughter, one of the finest teachers in South Florida, would have had to quit teaching and find another job under that bill...her income would have dropped about 1/3rd!
I've not been to see the capitol yet! I think it's about time...but going north since I've moved south is always such a difficult decision. Perhaps I'll just come back more often and enjoy your pictures.
Some seriously nice weather you seem to have there!
A sky worth seeing and a nice way to point at it!
I thought I might take a trip to our Capital sometime this weekend. It's always a great place to take the camera.
Beautiful blue sky and white building.
