Watery Wednesday

Posted by Picasa

Trees growing in the lake behind the Tallahassee Mall. The water is a little muddy because it has rained so much lately and this lake collects the runoff from several parking lots. To see more beautiful watery pictures, please visit Watery Wednesday.

Now that's fascinating. The only trees I've seen growing in water are mangroves.

It looks like a flood.

On Sunday, we had some pretty good rain up here. It rained pretty hard, at times, and the wind was blowin' somethin' awful. Gusts up to 50 mph. The tempeture was up to 60! It was some crazy weather. Now, it's back down into the 30's with snow in the forecast.

It almost looks like a flooded area. I like all the brown tones in the picture.
Sunny :)

It's been raining off and on here, too. The river is high and running swiftly. This photo could have been taken down at our river! What a lovely picture!

Well, it appears that these trees aren't lacking for water...

That looks like a lot of runoff water.

This reminds me of some trees that I saw in a frozen lake. It's amazing how resilient they can be.

I like the way the sun is brightening the colors of the muddy water and the trees.

This is as watery as one tree can be. I guess it is usual that they grew in these conditions.

Great post for the theme, Lois. Is this actually a lake or a retention pond?

I thought you had a flash flood there for a minute.

neat photo...I like the bit of reflection in the water too. Somehow, it's not an alarming photo, even though the water level looks too high - maybe because the water seems fairly calm & it's sunny too.

Interesting shot.... funnily I was looking at our closest river and that too is so very muddy we have had an overabundance of rain this summer (Johannesburg, South Africa).
