Fire Truck
I saw this fire truck parked in the Publix Supermarket parking lot the other day and didn't think anything of it until I noticed that it said Plaistow Fire Dept across the top. I decided to take a picture and then went home and looked up Plaistow and found out it is a city in New Hampshire. I'm not sure what their fire truck was doing in Tallahassee, but I thought it was interesting enough for a post on my blog. You can read about Plaistow here.

Fire Truck is the most important thing of a fire assault. A good fire truck leads to the victory in the fire assault and a bad one can lead to loose.
Fire truck convention??
Yes, Lois, that is rather strange. A fire truck there that is so far from home. What the reason for this, I don't know. I'm sure that it was not driven' down there that far.
From my Firefighting day's, this type of truck is known as a Ariel Platform. The Platform extends way up and out. They usually have a Deluge Gun at the bottom, to put out fires. Used for fighting fires in tall buildings or homes.
They drove a long way for lunch!
A major GPS malfunction!
Sunny :)
Another snowbird in Florida for the winter?
Hello Lois, very interesting post and this fire truck is really huge! Cool shot!

Lois, I believe the Plaistow firemen have been following your fabulous blog for awhile. Finally, they just couldn't resist any longer and had to visit. Mystery Solved! :)
There is at least one manufacturer of fire trucks in Florida as well as companies that handle fire fighting equipment.
That's odd that it would be sooo far from home - Maybe they bought it down there somewhere & was taking it home!?
We had a chimney fire last winter. It was a frightening experience. One I hope never to go through again.
I was very grateful for the firemen and their red and white trucks!
This is a great capture, dear Lois!
Wow, that's enormous! It's interesting that US firetrucks and UK ones are so different looking. There's a fire station up the road from my house. I'll post a fire engine picture one day.
A long truck!
(I saw a fire truck a week ago, and it was much smaller.)
I love the responses you got to this one. A major GPS malfunction indeed!
They were looking for a bagel shop!
They were a long way from home to do grocery shopping!
Here's the REST of the Story (from Plaistow Fire Chief)..That truck was the aerial piece for Plaistow NH from 1987 until 2010. We purchased it used from North Lake, IL. We replaced it with a 1992 Tower (ladder with a bucket) which can be seen on our website. The truck in the photo was sold to a gentleman from Tallahassee and he drove it to FL. Why it is in the Publix parking lot is beyond me, perhaps he was grocery shopping and wanted to show off the truck.
Thanks for providing the rest of the story! That's really interesting. I haven't seen the truck again, so it must have found a good home. I'll check out your website.
