Fresh Seafood
Barnacle Bill's has been in business in Tallahassee for almost 30 years. They serve awesome fresh Florida seafood. I have also heard that this place is where the lead singer of the rock band Creed, which got its start in Tallahassee back in the late 1990's, used to work as an oyster shucker before the band became famous, but I cannot verify that for sure!

"YOU KNOW WHERE"
Fresh from Florida---I hope so. Let's believe that the singer story is true---every place needs some neat history. MB
It's a little know fact that most successful rock stars began their careers shucking oysters. Many actually return to shucking upon retiring.
Mmmm I love oysters!
Oh My, Lois. I just love seafood. I'll eat most anything, except oysters! For some reason, I just don't care for those things. Love clams, fish, shrimp, scallops, but no sushi! YUK!
For us to have a really nice seafood dinner around here, we have to go to a local restaurant. However, for either one reason or another, everytime we go to a place near the sea, the seafood is always so much better. I'll eat seafood anytime!
I love the kitschy name. In Florida, the more kitschy the name and the decor, the better the food. I'll try Barnacle Bill's if I get over there sometime.
I love retail displays and signs like this one and find them interesting as they really say a lot about who we are at any given time. They are simple, colorful and to the point.
Did you notice that this seafood restaurant claims that its seafood is "Fresh from Florida"? FROM Florida. That's great 'cause they are IN Florida. Too funny.
Ah shucks. I like seafood but I can't find a good place around here. You have it made. :-)
We had a Barnacle Bill's not too far from here too. It was near the port and was a popular eatery/pub for the port workers. I'm not sure if it's still in existence. Cool, colorful sign Lois.
Scott Stapp may have worked there? Creed is one of my favorite bands. :)
Oh, I love your signs, Lois!
I used to live in Dublin, Ireland, for almost 4 years, loooong time ago, and sometimes had breakfast at a place called the Bad Ass Café. One of the waitresses became quite famous, her name is Sinead O'Connor.
It would seem that you have taste-tested their food and thus speak from experience...
I like the sign. I think some signs are funny. Who would want to eat a barnacle?
Oyster shucker sounds like the last thing you would expect a band or singer to do but it takes jobs like that to make ends meet in the start of any new career.
Every visitor counts, big time...

Next time you go there, have a few bites for me! Yummy!
'Fresh from Florida' is very inviting!
Thanks so much for your comments on my blog. You have some unique and pretty photos. I can't wait to have seafood this weekend on the beach. We go to Alabama.
That's a really eye catching sign. I could eat seafood everyday, yum :)
Have a nice weekend, Lois.
I hate oysters but love the sign!
