Photos from Florida's Capital City (and occasionally a few from other interesting places I have been fortunate enough to visit in my travels!)
Gosh it looks like a very large tree. I hope the lemons are good. One year, we took my mother with us to visit our son who lived in Jupiter, Florida. He had a lemon tree, not this big, in his back yard filled with lemons. My mom went out and picked some off and made fresh lemonade out of them. And it was delicious. I think that was the only time he ever used a lemon off that tree.
Lemonade;whiskey sours;lemon pie;tarte citron, etc. I had one in my yard years ago. Used them for everything.
One day our lemon tree will look like this one....prayerfully!
Oh how I miss the citrus growing in back yards! You are so lucky to have them. Beautiful tree!
I think it is time to start thinking about setting up a lemonade stand for your grandson, Lois...
Still green but a lot of them! :-)
I miss being able to pick citrus fruit and avocados from trees like I did growing up. This brings back memories.Have a great weekend!
I would love to take advantage of these lemons and gather them up Pam. The tree is right next to the road and the owners don't seem to take advantage of the fruit since they let most of them fall to the ground and rot. It's a shame!
I lost the first lemon tree I planted and replaced it with a lime tree. It provided us and many friends with limes until Hurricane Charlie beat it up. It's still trying to come back but not doing well. I'll be lucky to get a handful of them this year. I love Florida citrus.
That is a very large lemon tree...why is it I all of a sudden have this tune going through my head: "Lemon tree, lemon tree" - from Peter, Paul & Mary?
Yeah I've been having that same problem ever since I posted this picture Jacob!
Yumm. Nothing like right off the tree. Makes me pucker just thinking about it Lois.
Reminds me of the song "Lemon Tree".
I can't believe they waste them!! Lemons are so expensive here.
