Watery Wednesday

Posted by Picasa

This is the first time I have posted a picture on this blog that was not taken in Tallahasssee. Last weekend I attended my niece's wedding in Jacksonville Beach and I took this picture of the Atlantic Ocean one morning from our hotel balcony. There were thunderstorms about to roll in behind me from the west and I thought the light was so pretty shining on the water. I grew up in Jacksonville Beach. Our house was just a few blocks from where I took this picture and we used to walk to the beach almost every day. On Friday I plan to post a SkyWatch picture of this same scene just after sunrise. Please visit Watery Wednesday for more beautiful watery pictures!

When enlarged this is a very relaxing photo. Love seeing the few beach visitors enjoying themselves! Thanks for taking me out of Tally if only for a minute!! LOL

What a delightful photo of the beach you knew as a child. I hope you and your grandkids built some sandcastles while you were there.

I would hope we are not "locked" into one area. I leave next week for the summer and plan to intersperse FT. Laud DP with shots from where I am at.

This kind of scene is probably old hat to you having grown up there...but it certainly is a superb photograph...the blues and the light on the water...great capture!

Have a great day, Lois!

Nice ocean pic Lois, I miss the sea living here in the middle of England. Going to coast tomorrow though to get my new (to me) camera.

I suppose it must have been named by someone, perhaps, Lord Baltimore.

I like the idea that some silly guy, mad after girls, Benny Hill, named it.

What a beautiful beach photo! It's been cold here for days. It has been snowing above 10,000 feet all day.

The light is gorgeous! Really pumps up the intensity of those blue beach umbrellas! I think this is a fabulous shot and I'm looking forward to seeing the sunrise!

Great composition and the blue accents on images is great. it is like a postcard. I am glad you enjoyed the bird and the statue on my site.

Oh, it's a lovely composition...with the bright blue details, the light on the bridge railing, the people & activity, all against the wide open, bright ocean.

You caught the shimmer of the water and the eerie shadow of the beach perfectly. I can tell something is about to happen!
