A solitary seagull always reminds me of Jonathan Livingston Seagull, from so many years back.

They do like to stand up on something solid don't they. I remember the few times we were in florida and at Jupiter eating at a restaurant across from the red lighthouse, that all the pier posts had one bird on each. Looks odd to me but it must be normal there.

If there is any hint of any food around... he would be mobbed in an instant. What fabulous eyesight birds have, to find these perches in a mass of water.

The seagull looks as calm and peaceful as the water surrounding him ... which is odd because I don't usually picture seagulls as "peaceful" birds. Wonderful shot.
