Here are two shots of the interior of the church in Jacksonville Beach I showed you here. It was not easy to get a good shot of the whole interior because it is such a huge sanctuary and because of the lighting. The first picture shows the marble altar, the cross (which is suspended from the ceiling) and the far wall with a statue of Christ. The walls are made of huge coquina blocks. My grandson was fascinated with all the seashells imbedded in the walls. The second picture is the pipe organ.

Very pretty. Looks quite large.
Hi Lois, so you have an iPhone too, it's such fun. But I am deleting some of the applicaitions, these type of social networking tools, they are funny but really consume my attention:).
Great to see your one of my faithfull posting people!
Regards from Marcel
Hello Lois! This would be a perfect post for Spiritual Sundays! Lovely! Luanne
It can be strange going back. I once callent to see the church where I was in the choir as a boy, it was locked!
Nice looking church.
I would love to hear that beautiful pipe organ being played. I bet you would feel it through your whole body - down into your soul!
Very modern, I like it!
Lois, if you like modern churches you should visit the 'new' huge Basilica de Guadalupe in Mexico City. Awesome interiors!
Clytie, yes the pipe organ sounds magnificent! It is my favorite part of this church. I remember when I got married here, walking down the aisle with that organ playing was like being in a dream (and a little scary because it is so loud)!
I like it and I like the idea of using native materials - coquina blocks and seashells.
You did very well! Thanks!
wow dear Lois! What a organ!!!!
I would love to be there to hear this sound!
Fabulous pictures!

I like the first photo. very well done
It must have been a beautiful place for a wedding!
I love the simplicity of the church interior, and that organ looks spectacular. Great choice for a Sunday.
Seashells in the walls! Neat! Quite an expansive sanctuary.
How very lovely. What stunning photos! Wow!
I love the simplicity of the altar wall! And the huge stone blocks are beautiful!
